Tollefson Swimming is proud to offer Masters Swimming again this year at the Old Farm Pool. Swimmers will swim between 1500 and 3500 meters during each ninety-minute workout. Freestyle will be the primary stroke for conditioning; however, we will sometimes swim all four competitive strokes. The Masters Program begins Monday, June 9 with 90-minute practices every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 5:45 to 7:15 am and ends Friday, August 8. The fee for Old Farm members is $165; for non-Old Farm members $195. Please make check payable to Tollefson Swimming.
I think for most of us, we all think this day could not have come soon enough. Winter is now way behind us (hope I didn’t just jinx us!) and summer with its warm days and great pool activities is now within reach. The Old Farm Pool 2014 season officially gets started this weekend. Be sure and check out our hours and rules page on the website for a friendly reminder of all this important stuff. See you at the pool!
Divers: There is a new dive designation this year. Those divers that do not press the board or do a hurdle in the front or back dive will be doing what is now called a Line Up.
The DD for this is .8 (the same for front, less for back)
NEW FOR 2014:
- For all age groups, divers may substitute 001 (forward lineup, d.d. 0.8) for 101.
- For all age groups, divers may substitute 002 (back lineup, d.d. 0.8) for 201
- Judges and Reps are being instructed to be patient with the new terminology with the (young) divers as it may seem confusing.
Dive Practice begins NEXT TUESDAY May 27 at 5pm. Bring an extra towel to stay warm!
Don’t forget, this Saturday May 17th is our first event of the 2014 season. The pool has been filled and the smell of summer is in the air. Members, friends, neighbors are all invited. Just remember, this is an adult thang.
