The 2012 season is underway and in full swing with a high percentage of renewals and a huge surge in new memberships, especially among young families. Opening weekend weather was perfect, the pool was very well attended and we sold out of all the food we had to sell at the Café Old Farm Bar-B-Q. Swim and Dive teams are preparing for the first meets, and we continue to receive complements on the new deck furniture and umbrellas. Our members and guests are enjoying some of our “extras” including the grills, Friday night pizzas, volleyball, basketball and ping pong. Just a few quick reminders and notes to help make everyone’s pool experience enjoyable.
Upcoming Events. In the next few weeks there are lots of activities that we hope you and your family will participate in, including Master Swim and Early Morning swim as well as water aerobics, Flippin’ Pizza Fund Raiser, Wine and Cheese, Adult Luau, kids luau, movie night, FINS swim program, Kids triathlon training and the July 4th Independence Day parade starting at Farmland Elementary and activities/picnic at the pool.
Please sign in when you arrive at the pool. When you arrive at the pool, please sign in on the Sign-In log. Also, if you have a guest, please notify the desk attendant so that your guest card can be marked or if you prefer, you can pay the $5 guest fee. Also, if there is a new neighbor who may have just moved in, please tell them about Old Farm Pool and have them contact Pat May at email@example.com.
Summer storm procedures. In the event of a summer pop-up thunder/lightning storm, the Manager on duty will make the decision to clear the pool or deck area for safety for 30 minutes following thunder or lightning. Once the storm has passed, the pool will re-open. In the event of a major storm or weather condition, any decision to close the pool for the remainder of the day will be made by the President or a designated member of the Board of Directors. This decision will be made based on current weather conditions and predicted weather forecasts for the remainder of the day. If the pool is to be closed for an extended period, we will be sent all pool members an email notification.
We could use a replacement computer for the Front Desk. Have you recently purchased a new home computer and don’t know what to do with your old but serviceable desktop or laptop? We could certainly use a new (gently used) – and working – computer for the front desk. We use the computer to display the pool website, track weather conditions, update members on current activities and eventually will be part an electronic sign-in process. If you have a computer you would like to donate, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
No glass of any kind at the pool. One last reminder, the pool strictly enforces that there are to be no glasses or glass bottles on deck. This is for everyone’s safety as a broken glass can not only cause injury but can also put the pool at risk if glass gets into the pool and filtration system. Please be sure to bring plastic cups if you wish to imbibe on deck.
We continue to try to maintain a relaxed environment for members and guests, so please recognize that these policies are in-place for everyone’s benefit.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pool!
