For those of you who have already registered, keep an eye out for an email from TeamSnap. We will be using TeamSnap to communicate with Dive Team parents. Visit teamsnap.com for more info.
If your child wants to make a big splash at Old Farm this summer, the Dive Team is the place for them! It’s a great opportunity for children to learn new skills and bond with other kids in the neighborhood. No prior diving experience is required. Check out the Dive Team’s web page (link) for information about our registration fees, practice schedule, team suit (new for 2018!), and more.

Looking for a few teen Volunteers to help make the Fourth of July party great!
We would like to gather a group of teens together to organize and execute some activities for the Fourth of July party at Old Farm. We will have 6 to 8 games and crafts depending on the number of volunteers. We would like 4 Leaders and 8 Participants. The commitment for Leaders is 4-5 hours (2 hours ON the FOURTH of JULY plus 2 hours AHEAD of time to plan and gather materials). The commitment for Participants is 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Participants will run the activity, game or craft. All volunteers will get SSL hours for their help. Please help make the Fourth of July party a great one!
As you may have noticed, we have a lot of activities going on at the pool this summer. And we’ve got a super easy way for you to keep track of them all too. By clicking/tapping on the appropriate link(s) below, you can add our activities to your personal calendar. Each time we update the pool calendar, your personal calendar will be automagically updated too.
Thursday, May 11th, 7:30pm at the Linkie’s (11820 Farmland Drive). Stop by to say hello and find out how to get more involved with the team this summer. There are lots of opportunities to help out beyond timing and we need your help. We’re in need of volunteers to help coordinate social events, to plan and execute the Swim and Dive Banquet, and to run concessions. Wine and light refreshments will be served.
Old Farm will be holding its Annual Registration Night on Wednesday, April 26th at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria at Farmland Elementary. Members of the Board of Directors will be on hand to answer membership questions. It’s also a great opportunity to submit those last minute membership dues before the early bird rates expire on April 30th.
Swim and Dive Team Registration
Coaches and Representatives of the Swim and Dive Teams will be on hand to answer questions regarding the swim and dive programs, team suits and lessons programs. Registration for both the Swim and Dive Teams will be done online through Team Unify (opening in the coming days). Payments can be made in person at Registration Night, paid through the Pool Store or submitted by mail.
Information will also be available on Tollefson’s Masters Swim Program and Coach Dorrer’s Triathalon Training Programs for kids and adults. Pool Spiritwear order forms will be available as well.
We’re looking forward to another great summer at Old Farm! Come by on the 26th to learn more about all of the fun in store.
Did you know that Old Farm his hosting MCDL Divisionals this year on Sunday, July 24th? And the only thing cooler than that are these shirts! So if you have a diver in your family, you can pre-order your shirt now. These will sell out, so “now” might be a good time to get one:http://store.oldfarmpool.org/item/mcdl-divisionals-tshirt-1
We are very happy to announce all members of the Old Farm Dive Team have the opportunity to be trained by ACC diving champion Kevin Burke! Kevin still holds three of the University of Maryland’s four diving records. And did we mention at one time, he held every MCDL boys record too? He’s a member of the US Junior National Team and has competed in the Junior Pan American Games. Yeah, he’s a stud.
These clinics will take place over five Saturdays during the season and are included in your child’s registration fee. So if you (OK your child) wasn’t too sure if they wanted to dive this year, well there is no excuse not to now. This is a fantastic opportunity for new and seasoned divers alike!
A night out at Gilly’s for a good cause – CRAFT BEER!!! Gilly’s will be donating 10% of their sales to our Old Farm Swim and Dive Teams between 5-10pm. If you haven’t been to Gilly’s before, they are located at the corner of Twinbrook and Chapman Ave. (next to Urban BBQ). They have a huge deli (so come hungry) and 19 craft beers on tap (and come thirsty)! They also carry one of the biggest selections of craft beer in the Rockville area, a perfect opportunity to stock up for our Memorial Day Pool Opening and our Friday Happy Hours!
