This Wednesday, June 27th, we will leave after morning swim practice. However, morning practice will be abbreviated. The team will only practice from 8 – 9:00am with all age groups attending at that time. Hopefully we can get on the road by 9:15-9:30am. It should take a little less than 1 hour to get there but I’d like to have at least 1 1/2 to be sure.
We will rent tubes from Harpers Ferry Adventure Center (formerly Butt’s Tubes) in Purcellville, VA (located at the northern tip of Loudoun County, 15 miles northwest of Purcellville, Virginia. They are 4 miles from the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park in West Virginia, and less than a ½ mile from the Potomac River.):

In years past, the swim team could rely upon the expert photography of Brian Ray to document the season and fill the night at our banquet. With the graduation of Jordan, we now are working on a more-collaborative way to capture and collect these images. Mindy Johannessen has done the legwork to set up a page on the Smugmug site at: http://oldfarm2012.smugmug.com/. If you wish to post photos to the site (which we welcome), please email Mindy (firstname.lastname@example.org) for instructions. You will need to set up a free account to post pics, but it is very easy. Enjoy the viewing (and the picture taking)!
The dive team may also be interested in taking advantage of our spot on smugmug, so this is being added to the new blast for them.

Thank you Flippin’ Pizza for a Great Fundraiser!
This past Friday, we threw a fundraiser party with 35 pizzas copiously donated to us by Flippin’ Pizza. Not only was the pizza outstanding, but we netted nearly $500 (even after a generous tip). Thank you to Suzanne Stack, who spearheaded this effort, and the other volunteers who made this event a success in raising money toward the planned tot lot upgrade. We will likely plan other such fundraisers in the future to provide the little ones with a nicer play area on the back portion of our property.
We’ll have the pizza, you bring the beverages!
Enjoy the evening with friends and family while helping to raise funds for our planned new playground equipment. Flippin’ Pizza has generously donated 30 pies to help us with the fundraiser, and all proceeds will go toward the planned tot lot upgrade. Pizzas will cost $15 by the pie and $3 per slice. Unless you preorder a whole pie, all pizzas provided will be cheese. If you wish to order in-advance, you can choose one topping for free from these choices (sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, mushroom, green pepper, roasted red peppers, onions, or tomatoes). Just send an email to email@example.com prior to June 5, and your pie (with your name attached) will be available for pick up at the pool between 5 – 6 PM on June 8.
Come out and purchase pizza by the slice or by the pie on Friday evenings at the pool. Proceeds support the Dive team! Come see us at the dive well after 6PM… $2/slice or $15/pie until they are gone!
