A Note from the Presidents of Old Farm and Tildenwood Pools

Apr 28, 2014   //   by President   //   Notes from the President  //  No Comments
The two pools in the Greater Farmland community, Old Farm and Tilden Woods, have been a source of fun, relaxation and excitement in the community for many, many years.

As presidents of our respective pools, we wanted to remind the communities and our membership that the long tradition of membership exchange days continues.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays members from each pool can enjoy the amenities at the other pool as if you were a member.

The process is simple.  When you get to the front desk at either pool, sign in on the membership log and just indicate which pool you’re from when visiting the other.

We really look forward to our membership taking advantage of the opportunity to spend time with their friends at the other pool and enjoy all but the neighborhood has to offer.

Wishing you a wonderful summer,
Bruce Kay and David Sukinik

Old Farm Pool opens for the 2014 season in less than 30 days!

Apr 25, 2014   //   by President   //   News, Notes from the President  //  No Comments

There are lots of changes we know you are going to like for the 2014 season and lots of programs that will be returning.  Please read all the mailings that we have been sending so that you can participate.  It is still not too late to sign up for the Early Bird Membership rates!!

Our lifeguard staff is ready to start and will be working hard the next few weeks to set up the pool.  We have already drained and scrubbed the pool and have started refilling it.

If you have time during the next few weekends and would like to come up and help with setting up, beautifying the area or lending a hand, please let us know as there is lots to do.

We are constructing a ramp allowing easy access from the parking lot to the front of the pool house.  We will be continuing the early morning Master Swim Program.  We are adding all kinds of new swim programs, triathalon training, swim lessons and lots of activities to celebrate our 50th year of providing a great place to spend the summer.

If you would like to help volunteer to support the annual July 4th events at the pool, please contact me at president@oldfarmpool.org.

Our Board of Directors has been working very hard to provide fun activities and great facilities for our summer enjoyment.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pool!

Gardeners Needed

Apr 6, 2014   //   by President   //   News, Notes from the President  //  No Comments

Have a green thumb?

Like to do gardening?

Want to help us at the pool?

We are looking for volunteers to form a committee to help us with gardening at the pool as we get ready for the new season.  We have already hired a contractor to remove all the leaves from the pool area and gutters, so we need a few people to help us with plantings and other gardening chores.  We have a budget for gardening and are looking for a committee to help us beautify the pool area.  If you are interested, please contact me at president@oldfarmpool.org.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pool!

Bruce

New For 2014: Extended Wifi Access Around Pool

Mar 30, 2014   //   by oldfarmpool   //   General Announcements (pool closings, events), News  //  No Comments

In addition to a new ramp to make it much easier to enter the pool house, we are also making some “creature comfort” enhancements to the Old Farm Pool this Spring too. One of them is an investment into our WiFi network at the pool. While we have had WiFi access available to pool members for the last several years, you could really only benefit from this free service if you were close to the pool house.

By the time the pool opens later this Spring, we will have completed a complete overhaul of our network at the pool, providing WiFi access to the entire pool deck! Now you will be able to download that book to your Kindle, post pictures of what’s going on at the pool to our Old Farm Pool Facebook page, or just catch-up on some work.

Have you renewed your membership yet for 2014? Early bird discount ends soon! Renew your Old Farm Pool membership today.
