Masters Swimming at the Old Farm Pool
Tollefson Swimming is proud to offer Masters Swimming again this year at the Old Farm Pool. Swimmers will swim between 1500 and 3500 meters during each ninety-minute workout. Freestyle will be the primary stroke for conditioning; however, we will sometimes swim all four competitive strokes. The Masters Program begins Monday, June 10th with 90-minute practices every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 5:45 to 7:15 am and ends Friday, August 9th. The fee is $165 for members and $195 for non-members.
Tollefson will also offer one-hour stroke classes on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 6:00 to 7:00 am for those swimmers who would like to improve their technique for more efficient swimming. One-hour stroke classes begin Tuesday, June 11th, and end Tuesday, July 2nd. The fee is $120 for members and $150 for non-members.

Water Aerobics at the Old Farm Pool
Shallow Water Workout: This water fitness program is provided by the Wet Yet? Water Fitness Company. Classes are held for 45 minutes in water that is chest-deep and provide a low impact but challenging cardiovascular workout. Participants will exercise to music and perform a variety of motions including water walking and running, abdominal work and toning exercises. This class is designed to burn fat and increase cardiovascular fitness, range of motion and muscle tone. 8 classes: $64 for members, $94 for non-members. A minimum of 10 persons registered is needed in order to run the class. Water Aerobics begins Sunday, June 9th and will take place every Sunday from 10:30-11:15AM with the last class on Sunday, July 28th.

Yoga at the Old Farm Pool
Connie Jacobson will offer yoga classes on Thursday evenings from 6PM-7PM starting on June 6th and ending June 27th. Classes will take place on the new basketball court.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. All ages welcome, including teenagers.
Four Classes for $40, members only.
Afternoon practices for swim team started on Tuesday, May 28. For those 11 and older, meet on the deck at 3:35 (or as soon as you can get there). For those 10 and under on the team, meet on the deck at 4:50. For swimmers who do not know and need to determine whether they are on the team, the Pre-Team or Little Eagles, the coaches can help everyone and determine their appropriate levels. Pre-Team and Little Eagles started meeting Wednesday (May 29), with Pre-Team starting at 5:00 and Little Eagles at 4:30. It is not at all too late to join the swim or dive team as we always have late joiners given school and activity schedules.
Thanks to all the tot lot supporters of the Old Farm Pool, we raised over $2200 for a new playground between our May 19th early opening event and raffle. Many thanks to our volunteers including: Joelle Touw, Katherine Teitgen, Vicki Dunn, Amantha Linkie, Catherine Williams, Ginny Dugan, Erin Luecking, Carmen Evans, Tara Bingley & Carolyn Chung. A special thanks to Kelly Leighton Hill, who generously donated an item and organized our raffle & to Dee Dee Lofft, who tirelessly collected over $2000 in food donations & raffle items for our pool.
Many of you have earned guest passes, some of which expire at the end of the season. We want to remind you of the various ways that you may have earned a free 10-visit guest pass (worth $30). So check out your binder page at the pool to see if you have any guest passes to be used.
- If you are a brand new member in 2013, you earned a free 10-visit guest pass that is valid in 2013 only. Make sure to use the pass before it expires.
- If you sent in payment prior to our issuing a paper invoice, you earned a free 10-visit guest pass that is valid in 2013 only. Use it or lose it!
- If you referred someone who joined the pool, you earned a free 10-visit guest pass that is valid indefinitely (no expiration). Thank you for the referral(s). If you believe that you are due a referral bonus, please contact Patrick May.
Thank you again to everyone for the great activity that has generated the issuance of these free passes. Make sure to remember to use your guest passes to invite friends to check out the pool…and potentially become new members!

Join us for our first ever Splash & Dash at the pool on Saturday, June 1st at 8AM for adults and 9AM for kids!
Adults (16+) will swim 300 yards followed by a 3 mile run on neighborhood sidewalks and trails.
Kids (7-15) will swim 100 or 200 yards and run .62 or 1.24 based on age.
This is an un-timed event for fun or time it yourself if you have that competitive bug! Refreshments will be served at the end.
Practice begins Tues May 28 at the Dive Well. Divers should plan to practice at least one hour if possible, sometime between 5-7. It will be chilly in the water, so bring an EXTRA towel to stay warm.
If you haven’t registered, no worries. There will be forms there and remember that we an only accept checks, made out to Old Farm Swim and Dive. $110. Divers cannot dive without pre-payment due to insurance requirements. First Dive Meet is June 16 at Flower Valley. Volunteers required, sign up to follow at a later date. Go Eagles!
Get ready for triathlon race season with open water swim drills and simulation at Old Farm Pool. Learn how to minimize effort in the water and complete the swim course more efficiently. Lane lines will be removed so participants can practice drills that focus on triathlon specific open water techniques such as sighting, drafting, pack swimming, deep water starts and buoy turns. Discuss the best technique for running entry and exits. Finish the session with an open water simulation swim. Participants should be able to swim 300+ yards continuously to participate. 15 and older welcome, though anyone under 18 needs a parent to sign a waiver on site.
This year there will be a new part of the swim team – the Little Eagles. The Little Eagles are for those children who cannot yet make the Pre-Team (by swimming a half lap of the pool), but want to be part of the team. There are two requirements: (1) the child cannot be in diapers; and (2) if the child were to lose his/her footing in the shallow end, he/she must be sufficiently mobile to get himself/herself up without any help. The Little Eagles will practice 4:30-5:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the shallow end. For those children who are interested, please sign up for the swim team!
We will open the pool for a preview party on Sunday May 19 from noon to 5 PM. Members and non members are welcome. There will be an entry fee of $10 per person, with a maximum of $30 per family. We will provide free food, drink, and music. Be the first to check out the many improvements that we made in the off-season, including a new entry step across the toddler section. Zoe’s Kitchen is providing food. Other sponsors include: FINS, Flippin’ Pizza, Geneva Day School, Lifetime Fitness, Michael & Son, and Remax Town Center. All proceeds will go to the Old Farm Pool Tot Lot.

The suit this year is meant to last for 2 years..TYR asteroid diamondback, navy/red.Prices $58 girls/$37 Boys Jammer. If you cannot get your size at registration, you can go to Aardvark and still obtain the Old Farm discount and either get it there or they will order one for you.
FUND RAISER EVENT: SWIM AND DIVE plan on hosting a CAR WASH– we will need at least one Dive Parent Volunteer for this event. We are looking at June 16 or 23 at this time. Consider lending your hand. SSL Hours for students.
