We are very happy to announce all members of the Old Farm Dive Team have the opportunity to be trained by ACC diving champion Kevin Burke! Kevin still holds three of the University of Maryland’s four diving records. And did we mention at one time, he held every MCDL boys record too? He’s a member of the US Junior National Team and has competed in the Junior Pan American Games. Yeah, he’s a stud.
These clinics will take place over five Saturdays during the season and are included in your child’s registration fee. So if you (OK your child) wasn’t too sure if they wanted to dive this year, well there is no excuse not to now. This is a fantastic opportunity for new and seasoned divers alike!
We’re starting off the season with the amps turned up to 11. OK, not really 11 but you get the idea. We are thrilled to have an absolutely amazing local band, Driven To Clarity helping us get things moving in the right direction. May 21st is the day and all adults (members and non-members) are welcomed. This will be our first event of the season. You can expect to see all your friends coming out from their winter hibernation for this event and dancing to the blues and alt-rock music of DTC. This one will sell out, so get your tickets now. Oh, and be sure and RSVP on our Facebook event too!
A night out at Gilly’s for a good cause – CRAFT BEER!!! Gilly’s will be donating 10% of their sales to our Old Farm Swim and Dive Teams between 5-10pm. If you haven’t been to Gilly’s before, they are located at the corner of Twinbrook and Chapman Ave. (next to Urban BBQ). They have a huge deli (so come hungry) and 19 craft beers on tap (and come thirsty)! They also carry one of the biggest selections of craft beer in the Rockville area, a perfect opportunity to stock up for our Memorial Day Pool Opening and our Friday Happy Hours!
Parent Social: Thursday, May 12th, 7:30pm at the Linkie’s (11820 Farmland Drive)
Stop by to say hello and find out how to get more involved with the team this summer. There are lots opportunities to help out beyond timing and we need your help. Wine and light refreshments will be served.
Does your kid love to swim, bike or run? Join the F2BK Multisport Club for youth (7-12) and junior (13-17) athletes this summer! Most trainings take place at the Old Farm Pool and local trails.
Kids will develop proper technique and skills in swimming, biking and running! They will build endurance, work on speed, learn to strength train properly and discover the importance of healthy nutrition to fuel their bodies. In addition, athletes can prepare and participate in a fun event whether it is a splash & dash, triathlon, 5K or cycle event! There are several local events they can participate in!
Come when you can! Join the club for one low price and come any time all summer long! Going to camp or traveling? No problem!
Our trainings start June 3 and run through August.
Be part of the F2BK Multipsort Club and discover the sports that last a lifetime!

As the weather has gotten nicer and we approach opening day, the board has been busy preparing for the 2016 season. Here are a few points of interest:
Early Bird Season Ends Saturday, April 30
Please get your dues payments in as soon as possible to take advantage of early bird rates. If you have membership questions, please e-mail our membership volunteers at email@example.com
Membership Cards for Front Desk Check-In
As you know, we began using a barcode-scan entry system last year. Your barcode cards from last year may be used again this year (and for years to come). Nevertheless, some of you reported that the barcodes on the key tags have worn off and are unusable. If you have experienced this problem, please see the front desk staff to obtain a new card. New members may also obtain their membership cards from the front desk staff.
Update on Improvements
Installation on our new pool water heaters is nearly complete, and we expect to have them operational on opening day (Saturday, May 28). You also may have noticed that our paddle tennis courts are undergoing a complete renovation. We expect this work to be completed within a week.
Calling All Gardeners!
Board member Tom Walsh has undertaken a beautification project for the club’s grounds. If you have green thumb, and you are interested in volunteering your gardening skills and/or plantings for the betterment of the club, please contact Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org
Swim and Dive Team Registration (and information about our other programs, too!)
Registration night for the Old Farm Eagles Swim and Dive Team will take place on Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 pm at Farmland Elementary School. If your children haven’t previously participated, please consider this great opportunity for summer fun and exercise. Our swim and dive teams are open to children of all ability levels. We will also have information available about our masters swimming program, adult and kid triathlon training, and water aerobics classes.
