Greetings Old Farm Swim and Paddle Tennis Club Members!
My name is John Hudalla, and I am the new President of Old Farm Pool and Paddle Tennis Club. I am taking over this position from Bruce Kay, who was the Club’s President for over a decade. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to thank Bruce for his dedication and tireless work as our leader over those years.
In 2016, we welcome three new board members: Amy Ruther and Tom Walsh will be our membership chairs, and David Markert will be responsible for the Old Farm dive team. They replace Bruce Kay, Griff Lindsay, and Eric Forsythe, who retired from the board. We thank Griff, Eric, and Bruce (again) for their efforts on behalf of the Club.
The Board has some exciting updates about the 2016 season. This Spring, we will be performing a comprehensive overhaul and upgrade of our platform tennis courts. This will include resurfacing of both courts, lining both courts with platform tennis and pickleball regulation boundaries, replacement of all screens, and installation of locking snowboards.
We are also excited to announce that we have purchased pool water heaters that will be installed and operational by opening day of the pool season. As you may recall, we held a referendum of the membership in November, and the overwhelming majority of responding members (82%) favored installing pool heaters. We expect that the heaters will make for a much more pleasant swimming experience early in the season.
Our annual membership season will begin in March, and we will be using the same online membership system that we used in 2015. Be on the lookout for information on how to rejoin for the 2016 season.
The Board is looking forward to a great 2016 season. Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
The ANNUAL MEETING of the Old Farm Swim and Paddle Tennis Club will be held at 7:30 P.M., Wednesday November 18, 2015 at the Farmland Elementary School All Purpose Room. The Board of Directors invites, and encourages you to attend this important annual meeting.
There are two important issues on the agenda:
- Election of new members to the OFP Board of Directors
- Discussion on capital improvements to the pool including pool heaters and a “pavilion” to replace our tent covering the picnic tables
We very much look forward to you coming and sharing your thoughts with our Board of Directors.
