The pool will be closed no later than 5pm today to prepare for this afternoon’s swim meet, rescheduled as a result of Friday’s storm. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for you.
As usual, we are asking for voluntary sponsorships of $20 from families, who will then receive a “flag ” along the route of the parade. This sponsorship money helps us to keep providing fun activities for our members as well as important upkeep for our community pool! So please, if your family would like to sponsor a flag please get your check (payable to Old Farm Pool) to the guard shack by 5pm today! You can leave your donation in an envelope marked with “July 4th” – with your name (as you’d like it to read ) on the envelope. If you cannot make it to the pool by 5pm today, please contact Debbie Labonski by 5pm and she can make appropriate accommodations with you.
We love being able to keep improving and giving our members what they like in a neighborhood pool. BTW: the kids get a big kick out of seeing their family’s name in big print along the route. Believe me, I only made that mistake the first year I was here! Try explaining to YOUR kids why his family is the only one not listed! If your family are not yet members of our pool, you are so welcome, and please also consider a donation; this helps in our endeavor to provide this service to the whole community every July 4th , and we would be proud to hang your names as donors as well!
We need help with the Parade, Concessions, Crafts, Games and more. Please check out the following volunteer opportunities and help where you can:
Please help is make this day a success for all our young ones by helping the day run smoothly. We have all sorts of positions available, from judges to grillers to manicurists! Be part of the fun by volunteering. Also, ensure yourself a lounge chair by signing up! All volunteers for the day will be guaranteed a chair to sit in!

A friendly reminder that the FINS Programs will vary from their normal times the week of July 2 due to the holiday.
The Tuesday evening program (6:30-8:00) will be rescheduled to Monday evening (July 2, 6:30-8:00) because the swim meet that would usually be held on Wednesday is being rescheduled to Tuesday.
In addition, the mid-day program on Wednesday (which results in the addition of a second and third lane in the pool between noon and 3:00) will be rescheduled to Thursday (July 5, noon-3:00).
All facilities remain open while the FINS program is going on.
If you have any questions, please contact Jay Matson at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is hard to believe that the pool has already been open for one month for this great 2012 season. Membership is strong with many new families joining us and actively participating in the many activities available for members of every age.
For those who were unable to attend, this past Saturday evening was the Adult Wine and Cheese event. A wonderful evening for all attendees with perfect weather. Special thanks to Board Members Scott Speier, (and Mary Jo), Marla Caplon and Debbie Labonski for all the hard work. Also thanks to the Gaultier family for arranging the great live music.
We have several more social events coming up in the next few weeks including the Adult Luau, we would certainly like to see everyone join us for that on Saturday July 14th.
One quick reminder to all that if you or your kids are playing in the volleyball court, please make sure you shower all the sand off of you before entering the pool. The foot shower is conveniently located between the volleyball court and the pool!
Thanks, and see you all at the pool!
