Paddle Tennis Invitational Tournament a Big Success

Paddle Tennis Invitational Tournament a Big Success

The 1st Old Farm Invitational paddle tournament was played with 16 players in the draw and sponsors Eaglebank, DMV Leasing, and New Columbia Solar. This was a key to success and could not have happened without the efforts of Langdon Hample. The eventual tournament winners were Tony Suroco and Justin Fishel.

The weather was fantastic and play ran from 8AM-3PM. Tournament Director, Ed Staunton said, “all the stars lined up for a perfect Tournament day with music throughout and all matches competitive. Most importantly all had a great time”.

He added, “Old Farm has added over fifty new Paddle members in the last two weeks due to the new League that just started”. League Commissioner, Chris Hitler said Old Farm members competed in a Combine on the night of November 9th. These sixty players were drafted to one of six teams the next day. League play started November 16th and will run through March.

Ed also indicated there are dates for the next Tournament, Sat/Sunday, January 2nd/3rd. There is also a rumor about a Women’s only Tournament, February 20th. It’s going to be a very busy winter for Paddle lovers.
