Need To Know Week of June 13th

Need To Know Administrative Exciting Super Fun Stuff!!!!

  • Sign Ups
  • Parking
    • We have a lower parking lot next to the Paddle Tennis courts
    • This lot is fully open to parking during the weekends and events
    • The lot will be at least half-open for parking the rest of the pool hours
    • Overflow parking for events and swim meets is with Faith United Church
  • Bathrooms – Toilet Paper Mess
    • This one is on us.  An attempt at upgrading toilet paper dispensers backfired when the TP rolls didn’t fit properly.  Who knew upgrading TP dispensers could backfire?  Who knew there were different widths of TP rolls?  Obviously, not us.  The fix is on the way, just bare with us (ha ha, is that even a pun?).  We know it became messy with TP rolls on the floor, we sincerely apologize and it wasn’t the lifeguard’s fault.  In the future, we hope we can look back on it as a learning lesson for all, the “OFP Great TP Fiasco of ‘22”.  If you ever have questions about TP width and styles (T11), please feel free to ask.
  • Pool Rules
    • Please “sign-in”, aka, say your last name to the lifeguard, at the front desk
      • County code and pool rules require going through the bathhouse for entry
      • No sneaking in through the side gate
    • Diving Board
      • One bounce on board
      • One person on diving apparatus at a time
      • No horseplay on or around the diving board
    • The pool managers and lifeguards have the FINAL say on all safety issues
    • No beverages of any type are allowed in the pool
  • Pool Hours
    • Pool closes at 4:00 PM on Wednesday due to a B Meet (GOOF!)
    • Starting Saturday, June 18th, the pool will move to its normal summer hours:
      • Sun-Thu 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
      • Fri-Sat 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Pickleball Players
    • When done playing, please move the portable nets next to the Paddle Tennis courts in order to keep the parking lot free for the afternoon parking rush.  Thanks.
  • Volunteering
    • While we do have a professional pool service running the pool and the lifeguards, the rest of the pool requires volunteers to be kept up properly
    • We are a community pool, and people seem to like it that way, so if you can volunteer for the OFP community it would be greatly appreciated
      • An hour or two here and there, some advice regarding your specialty or hobby, etc.
    • We are looking for plant waterers, web designers, marketing people, event organizers, “muscle” for setting up events, painters, technically savvy people, handy people (hammer, drill, etc.), as well as, in general, “doers and thinkers”.
    • Email:  membership@oldfarmpool.org
  • Future Enhancement Thoughts
    • We will be undergoing a full pool refurbishment in the fall
    • What improvements or additions do you think would be good?
      • Speak now, or regret it for the next 60 years until the next refurbishment
    • Email:  membership@oldfarmpool.org
