The Skinny Dip – June 22, 2021

Dear Old Farm Swim and Paddle Tennis Members,

We are now officially in full-on summer mode!!!  The pool is open regular summer hours, the swim team is swimming, the dive team is diving, lap swimmers are lap swimming, the aqua aerobics class is, uh, “aqua aerobicizing”?  Anyway, it is time to get down to the pool and start pooling.

On the exciting news front, Old Farm Swim Club hosted Montgomery Square at the first “B” meet of the season last Wednesday and Germantown for the first “A” meet on Saturday. The Old Farm Eagles did very well against Germantown with a 441 to 331 victory!

Welcome Back, Guests!

Guests will be welcomed back starting Monday, June 21st. Each guest requires a guest pass, but don’t worry, we have you covered for your first few guests.  Each membership comes with five guest passes, a way to say thanks to our wonderful pool community and so you can share the experience with others.  Want extra guest passes?  Earn 10 passes for each membership referral that joins the pool or additional passes can be purchased from the membership system (Membership — Guest Passes/Add CareGiver).  Questions or leads, please reach out to membership@oldfarmpool.org

Stay Hydrated

The pool just had a filtered water bottle station installed.  Bring your water bottle and refill at will.  The water filling station is located next to the Pepsi machine.  Yes, it is filtered water and it is glorious!

Those Popular Round Things, Called Tables

Parents, please remind your young swimmers (and, cough cough, remember yourselves) that the round tables cannot be reserved (i.e., towel dropped on table) or used solely by swimmers 12 and under.  The tables are wonderful for social gathering and eating, but are poorly used if they just hold a towel or bag for someone who will spend two minutes at the table.  We only have so much premium real estate, so let’s maximize its use.  Thanks.

Food Trucks

We have two food trucks scheduled for this upcoming week.

Reminder About Locking Bikes

On a recent morning, about half of the bikes in front of the clubhouse were unlocked. Unfortunately in past years there have been thefts even in busy, broad daylight. Please remind your kids to lock up their bikes!

And a Reminder about Keeping an Eye on Valuables

A theft of a small sum of money was reported recently at the pool. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence. It is best to keep valuables, wallets and cash at home!

A Word about the Baby (Wading) Pool

You may have noticed that the wading pool is closed; the pump for that pool is broken. A replacement pump will be installed soon and that pool will be open shortly.  Sorry about the inconvenience.

The Lost and Found is Filling Up (and it’s only been a couple of weeks)

Lose something? Please take a look at the Lost and Found (near the entrance to the clubhouse). Unclaimed items will be given away..
